Who cares. If you're a pindu ur a pindu. If you're a hypocrite you're a hypocrite. I mean really, who cares if you're Patel or Jatt or whatever? Those who do care.... they tend to be stuck up arseholes. :p

You're like King Henry the 8, a fat ugly bastard that is only royalty because of circumstance and not merit.

Brahmins.. priests etc. But they can never rule land, be warriors and fight for their land or be royalty. Kshyathriyas can rule and dictate them tho. Muwahahahah!! Lol.

No seriously, I don't give a shit about caste system. It doesn't apply to today's society. You can't honestly say that all Brahmins are THAT religious, can you?

The caste system is highly used only in the villages of India. In big cities and overseas it doesn't mean much compared to what it did maybe when our parents were our age.

Brahmins rule by proxy. They are the priestly class, that means they control the biggest commodity in India: religion. If you don't think Brahmins have fucked up India and should be slaughtered like the diseased animals they are, then you are truly ignorant.

Strictly speaking, Jatt isn't even a caste anyway. No comparison necessary.

Jatt just refers to the traditional roles in society as land rulers/farmers. Once upon a time, some Jatts decided to get in to woodwork, and eventually became "Tharkhaans". Means jack in regard to caste.

Caste is a class of people. Misunderstood today by people who think one caste is higher than another, when it's original use was to recognise people by the roles they have in a society today. Eventually it had no function whatsoever, and people just became discriminated for not being of a higher caste.

Jatt is not a caste, there is no where in Sikhism that states that a land ruler is more important than one who works with wood. Like improper said.. it's just a work position. But it is not regarded as a "Caste" being higher than anybody.

No where in sikhism does it state it, but in society and culture dictates that a land owner IS considered to be more important because of the VALUE of land, and hence the discrimination that occurs between the haves and have nots

This is totally untrue. What Sikhism says about caste is not important to what caste means in Hinduism. Castes are totally real in Hinduism. They were made as work positions and there was social mobility (switching jobs) but sooner or later it become very rigid. Actually, that was the logical conclusion... because Hinduism believes in karma and the birth cycle. So the Brahmins were able to cement castes into birthright which has had an enormous impact on India and millions of people.

Any quick glance at the Rig Vedas and one would be familiar with a caste system.

And the fact is that even if Sikhism rejects casteism, a lot of Sikhs don't, because they were previously Hindus.

You are kidding right? Many people follow it. Shady just stated in another thread he wouldn't marry a Jatt girl. That sounds like "following it."

haha no not better. people still strictly follow castes, you have been to india once in your life - not superifically for a wedding or something - you'd realize that many, many, many lives are effected by caste. and many people here will NOT marry someone outside of their caste. why do you think they patel conventions? brahmin conventions? malu conventions? jain conventions? they are meat-markets to find someone of your our caste.
