When it comes to the future of gaming, opposable thumbs are so passé. At least that is what the dreamers at T3 Magazine think when they started to commission future designs for their “future tech” feature. They are showcasing a Wii headset accessory that uses brainwaves to control characters and also features immersive in-ear headphones. They envision a streamlined Wii Remote with just the one button. Just point and press, and let your frontal lobes do the rest. All-in all, this is a cool idea, but I am looking more forward to a world filled with blue haired hotties praying to phallic symbols.

Well they are already talking about this, and I found this article that presented some real interesting points in regards to the future of gaming systems and virtual reality.

I did some "google" research and found an article dating back to 2004 on a gaming system already in existence that aimed towards helping paralyzed individuals (with complete brain functioning) to be able to play games through BCI (brain-computer interface).
Then I read another article (2007) about scientists who working towards the advancement of brain-computer interface have already used this technology to help impaired individuals with word processing/checking e-mails..even operating a TV by using their thought processes to conduct such actions. All they need is a laptop and a BCI cap. Anyway..yeh I figured it was worth sharing..I think all of these concepts are pretty interesting.

seems like Nintendo are doing a lot of things with the Wii.
This seems like a pretty good idea.
What makes you think the Wii will be around 2010? Consoles these days last about 4-5 years. And why would it be called the Wii again?

I didn't "think" anything, ask the designers at t3 magazine if it'll be around and if it'll be called the Wii. I just found the concept worth bringing to everyone's attention. I definitely found the second link about the future of virtual reality games more interesting though.
