Download Azureus Vuze - i find it easy to use. And then just go to Torrents Search Engine and download the torrent of choice, and it should start dloading automatically

uTorrent is the shizzzz
Basically 5 step process:
1) Download uTorrent
2) Find a torrent website (isohunt.com, etc)
3) Download the torrent, assign uTorrent to open it
4) Set your download folder, torrent downloads into the folder once u start it
5) When done, go check your download folder! All done, no mess!

and how do you play your torrents then?
torrents are just trackers that help you to download the files....the torrent software (Azurues, utorrent) will tell you once the download is complete...then find the directory where it downloaded to...and the files should be there...it could be anything movie, music, software, etc.

a torrent isnt something you play, it's a pointer to where a file is located. so when you "download a torrent" what you are actually doing is having your torrent program point to where the file you are looking for is located like your movie file. youll notice that torrent files are barely any size.
See I was gonna back up and explain what a "torrent" was exactly but didnt, so my apologies.
A "torrent" is almost like a "zip" file. It's basically a LARGE file or folder, which most be hosted somewhere on someones computer. As the amount of people sharing that file/folder increases, it can now be divided into chunks, and downloaded in chunks from different people. This makes the download process faster as your downloading from a various amount of sources, so your not completely stuck on depending on one source and their speed.
When you download a "torrent", depending on what you download, it already comes downloaded in the proper format. For example, if you download a music album, it will automatically download into whatever directory you set it as a folder, and the mp3s will be inside of it. If you download an application, the application will automatically download onto your specified "downloads" location as a folder, then you go to that folder and see what's inside.
Hope that helped!
the best thing about torrents is that one place doesn't have to have the whole file for you to download that file.
person A could have 40% of the file
person B could have the other 60% of the file
and so you download from two sources and that increases your chances of getting the whole file faster.
for utorrent guides
Torrent Beginner's Guide
step by step instructions: Torrent Connection Setup Guide
and for playing almost every type of video file, i use: VLC media player - Overview
make sure you have a good virus scanner..alot of the torrents are packed with trojans/virus..don't be going to random torrent sites
