hp laptops suck, i hate them. one of my roommates bought one to use, the keys started to fall off after 3 weeks. hp is cheap quality, its not worth it.

if your gonna invest in a laptop, your better off putting in $100-$200 more to get a macbook or lenovo or a better quality brand. (not. dell, they are worse than hp)

i have a lenovo thinkpad r61, it has the business look to it (all black and boxy), but quality wise, its a great pc, it syncs all my hardware to it and productivity wise its great too. its core2duo, and serato also works fine on it

that's not a bad laptop, i know a few people that have it and for a tablet its pretty good quality. theres a site that does tablet review which rated it high.

if you want something a bit more solid than go for HP's TC4400 tablet model, we got those for work and they are excellent.

the HP TC4400 is like IBM quality, it even looks like an IBM




if money is no object than i would get a IBM x61 tablet

Lenovo is awesome - Great power house Laptop, awesome backup/restoration... I had one at my last job and i practically left it on for the two years I was there, everyday, non stop. I used to reboot it once a month. Never had a problem.

When i had to 'format and re-install' it did it on its own in about 20 minutes.

I would stay away from 'Home brands' such as HP, Compaq, Gateway etc. for Laptops - just my openion though.

Lenovo is a home brand too, they sell them at Staples. And just like with every other computer company there is a vast difference between Lenovo for Business and Lenovo for home.

my lenovo has vista on it, at times its annoying, but it still runs great. the battery life is always about 3.5 hours, and it NEVER gets hot. i don't even need to buy a separate laptop cooler because it does a great job ventilating the air from the side heatsinks.

the best part about my laptop which i primarily bought it for is the screen resolution. most 15.4' laptops are standard 1280 x 800. i wanted more pixels, so i got the model with the WSXGA display (1680 x 1050).

the only downside to the laptop is that its kinda bulky, . weight wise, its about standard weight, but it is quite bulky.

my favorite part about the laptop is the trackball mouse. i LOVE that thing. i hate the little pad on the bottom, you gotta keep moving your finger around to move the mouse. with the trackball in the middle, you keep your finger in one spot and just put pressure in the direction you want it to go.

I dropped my old T23 Thinkpad on the floor like 8 times. Not just on carpet...hard floor. like BAM. Half the keys stopped working and this and that. I swear to god...every single time, that shit fixed itself without fail. EVERY SINGLE TIME. its like magic.

one thing i've noticed recently though is that my laptop collects a lost of dust. it's possibly just the fact that its black, but i have to wipe the screen once a week.
