I don't think India would want Pakistan back.... too many issues. Bordering Afghanistan has little tangible benefits. It's only a viable oil transport corridor if stable. The costs involved outweigh any benefit. Moreover, the Muslim population of the 'new' India would be significant. In a democratic system this would be disastrous for the Hindus.
